Seville has more than one bus station, so use the terminal printed on your ticket. Plaza de Armas is a major coach hub beside the river. Prado de San Sebastián is a separate terminal near the gardens of the same name. Last updated September 2026, this guide explains how to identify the right place and plan a car-free connection without confusing either with Santa Justa railway station. Our Seville to Ronda bus guide shows why the terminal on the actual departure matters when planning a day return.

Which Seville bus station is on your ticket?
Start with the full departure or arrival point in your booking, including its address and any operator instructions. A coach marketed as a Seville service need not use the same terminal as another departure to that destination. Check the return journey separately, too. Save the ticket and stop details on your phone before leaving reliable Wi-Fi.
The metropolitan transport authority’s station directory lists Plaza de Armas at Avenida del Cristo de la Expiración, 2, 41001 Sevilla. It is beside the river dock, between Torneo and Avenida Cristo de la Expiración. The coach terminal is not the nearby former railway building and shopping centre carrying the Plaza de Armas name.
Prado de San Sebastián is listed at Calle Manuel Vázquez Sagastizábal, s/n, 41004 Sevilla. Santa Justa is different again: it is the railway station on Avenida de Kansas City. Enter the complete station name in a map app, then compare the pin with the ticket. A saved pin labelled only “Sevilla” is not enough for a timed connection.
| Name on the booking | What it is | First check |
|---|---|---|
| Plaza de Armas | Coach terminal by Torneo and Avenida Cristo de la Expiración | Use the bus station, not the similarly named shopping centre |
| Prado de San Sebastián | Separate coach terminal near the Prado gardens | Do not go to Plaza de Armas by default |
| Sevilla-Santa Justa | Railway station on Avenida de Kansas City | Allow a road transfer if connecting with a coach |

Getting between Plaza de Armas and the historic centre
Plaza de Armas sits beside the historic centre, but “the centre” is not one stop. A hotel near the station, a cathedral visit and accommodation across the river can call for different routes. Compare the walk to your actual door with the walk to a bus stop, the wait and the final stop-to-door distance. With light luggage, a direct walk may be simpler than a short ride with two awkward pavement sections.
Use the current TUSSAM network map for orientation and its journey information for your departure time. The terminal’s own directions list C3, C4, 3, 6, 21 and 43 at the station or nearby. They do not all stop at the same kerb or travel in the same direction. Check the destination display before boarding rather than choosing any bus with a familiar number.
There is no metro platform or operating MetroCentro tram stop inside Plaza de Armas. The tram shown in the photograph below is by the cathedral, not at the coach terminal. For the wider network, use our Seville public transport guide and MetroCentro tram guide.
Once luggage is dealt with, the self-guided walking tour can help structure the sightseeing part of your day. Do not turn a station transfer into a sightseeing walk when you have a fixed onward departure. Heat, road crossings and rolling luggage can make the same distance feel very different.

The direct Santa Justa connection is line 21
The terminal’s official directions identify TUSSAM line 21 as the direct connection from Santa Justa to Plaza de Armas. At the railway station, look for the bus towards Plaza de Armas. In the other direction, check the Santa Justa stop on the line 21 itinerary and confirm the correct boarding side with TUSSAM.
Do not treat C1 or C2 as an interchangeable direct transfer between these two terminals. Those circular routes serve the Santa Justa area, but the station operator describes them as ways to reach other connections. For an unfamiliar visitor with luggage, line 21 is the clearer route to check first.
TUSSAM currently lists the ordinary single ticket at €1.40 on its ticket information page. A reusable card may suit several city rides; see the transport card guide. Do not assume an intercity coach ticket or Renfe ticket automatically pays for this urban bus.
The transfer involves more than the ride. Allow for leaving the coach bay or train platform, finding the stop, waiting, traffic and locating the next departure. As an editorial planning allowance, leave at least 60–90 minutes between scheduled arrival and the next departure, with more for an important separate-ticket connection. This is not a guaranteed connection or an operator minimum.
If a delayed arrival leaves little margin, compare a taxi with the next bus and your ticket’s change conditions before committing. A taxi can reduce some walking and waiting, but cannot remove road delays. Use the Santa Justa station guide for the rail side and Renfe for the actual train booking.
Airport bus EA: a separate fare and a separate timetable
EA is the airport service linking Plaza de Armas with Sevilla Airport. Its published route also includes Santa Justa and the Prado area. Use the airport-bound destination display when leaving the city. If you are arriving by air, choose the stop that suits your accommodation or onward ticket rather than automatically riding to the terminus.
Aena’s airport bus information lists €6 for a single and €8 for a return valid on the day of purchase. It also says these tickets do not include a transfer to another TUSSAM line. The €1.40 ordinary urban fare is not the airport fare. Check the return ticket’s printed conditions before buying it for a multi-day stay.
Use the TUSSAM EA timetable and current service notices for your travel date. Airport-bound and city-bound departures have different starting points and times. A terminal building’s opening hours do not establish the first or last airport bus, and a general airport summary is not a substitute for the correct timetable column.
For a flight, work backwards from the airline’s airport arrival advice and add the bus wait, road journey and a delay margin. Avoid planning around the final bus that would theoretically get you there on time. Our Seville airport transfer guide covers the airport side; confirm the current stop and fare before travel.
| Journey | Service to check | Ticket distinction |
|---|---|---|
| Plaza de Armas ↔ Santa Justa | TUSSAM 21 | Ordinary city bus; single listed at €1.40 |
| Plaza de Armas ↔ airport | TUSSAM EA | Airport single listed at €6 |
| Airport return on the purchase day | TUSSAM EA return | Listed at €8; check validity before buying |
| Coach to another city | Carrier named in the booking | Separate ticket, baggage rules and departure bay |
Plaza de Armas opening hours and practical facilities
The station operator publishes Monday–Thursday opening from 06:00 to 01:30, with 24-hour opening on the other days. It flags exceptions for 25 December and 1 January without giving their replacement hours in that notice. Its information-desk hours are different: 07:00–21:00 daily. Check the terminal’s current hours and contact details before an overnight or holiday journey.
Do not assume every night has the same closure, or that a coach’s scheduled departure proves the indoor waiting area is open. Ask the carrier and station where to wait and board if travelling around a closure. The published station information number is +34 955 038 665. For a very late arrival, arrange a practical route to accommodation rather than relying on an unverified promise of all-night facilities.
CTMAS lists a waiting hall, café, ticket counters, newsstand and luggage storage. A listed facility is not a guarantee that it is staffed whenever your coach arrives. Before leaving bags, check that day’s price, accepted bag size, payment method and collection deadline. Leave enough time to retrieve them before returning to the departure bay.
Travellers who need step-free access or boarding assistance should confirm both parts of the journey: access through the station and access onto the booked vehicle. Ask the carrier about the actual vehicle, mobility-aid dimensions and any advance-notice requirement. An accessible terminal does not mean every coach or street connection meets every access need.
Tickets, luggage, bicycles and finding the right bay
Book through the carrier operating your chosen departure, or use its authorised counter or sales channel. Compare the complete journey, not just a headline fare: terminal, date, departure time, luggage, change conditions and arrival stop all matter. If buying at the station, check counter hours before assuming a ticket can be collected immediately before boarding.
Keep the booking reference and any required identity document accessible. Read the departure display again after retrieving luggage or buying food, since a remembered bay number may not be the final allocation. Match both destination and time; two coaches with the same city on the front may not be the same booked service. Ask staff before joining a queue if those details do not agree.
As a planning buffer, aim to reach the terminal around 30 minutes before an ordinary coach departure, earlier if you need a ticket, assistance or special luggage. Follow any longer advance-arrival instruction in your booking. There is no universal one-hour check-in rule covering every operator at Plaza de Armas.
Alsa does carry bicycles on eligible services under its dedicated baggage policy. Reservation, suitable packing and available space matter; the service is not offered on double-deck coaches. The published supplement is €5 on short-distance services and €10 on long-distance services, with €20 for bicycles on its own international lines. Confirm that the option is offered for your particular departure.
That policy requires sports-equipment passengers to be present at least 15 minutes before departure. It separately bans electric scooters and other battery-powered mobility devices, with an exception for vehicles used by people with reduced mobility. Do not apply ordinary bicycle rules to an electric scooter, or generalise Alsa’s conditions to another carrier. For a city ride without transporting equipment, compare the options in our Seville bike-rental guide.
If your coach uses Prado de San Sebastián instead
Prado is a working coach terminal in its own right, not another entrance to Plaza de Armas. TUSSAM manages the station and describes its connections with MetroCentro and EA. The metro station list also includes Prado San Sebastián on Line 1. These are nearby transport connections, not a promise that every coach bay is directly beside the metro entrance.
The video in this section is The Virtual Tourist’s visit to Prado de San Sebastián. It is included to help distinguish the second terminal, not as a tour of Plaza de Armas or evidence of current departures. For metro ticket choices, use our Seville metro guide.
If you discover that you are at the wrong terminal, first check the time remaining and contact your coach operator about boarding or changes. Do not assume that a driver will wait or that another service accepts the same ticket. A taxi may be the simplest recovery option with luggage, but compare its likely arrival time before paying.
The same terminal check applies to day trips, including the bus trip to Itálica. Confirm the operator, stop and return point in the current timetable. A previous arrival at Plaza de Armas is not evidence that tomorrow’s trip leaves from the same bay—or even the same terminal.
Frequently Asked Questions
Which is the main Seville bus station?
Plaza de Armas is a major coach terminal, but Seville also has Prado de San Sebastián. Use the full station name and address on your booked departure rather than assuming every coach uses Plaza de Armas.
Where is Plaza de Armas bus station?
It is at Avenida del Cristo de la Expiración, 2, 41001 Sevilla, beside the river dock and Torneo. Choose the coach terminal rather than the nearby former railway building and shopping centre with the same name.
Which bus connects Plaza de Armas with Santa Justa?
Check TUSSAM line 21 for the direct connection. From Santa Justa, take the direction Plaza de Armas. Allow for walking to the stop, waiting and traffic; the bus ride alone is not your complete connection time.
How much is the airport bus from Plaza de Armas?
The EA airport single is listed at €6. Aena lists the €8 return as valid on the day of purchase; check its conditions before buying for a longer stay. Airport tickets do not include a transfer to another TUSSAM line.
Is Plaza de Armas open all night?
The station operator lists 06:00–01:30 Monday–Thursday and 24-hour opening on the other days, with exceptions for 25 December and 1 January. Information-desk hours are 07:00–21:00. Confirm access and boarding arrangements for overnight or holiday travel.
Can I take a bicycle on an Alsa coach from Seville?
On eligible services, yes, subject to reservation, packing and space under Alsa’s baggage policy. Double-deck coaches are excluded. Electric scooters are covered by a separate ban, not the ordinary bicycle allowance; mobility-aid exceptions require checking with the operator.
Does Plaza de Armas have a metro station?
There is no metro station inside Plaza de Armas. Prado de San Sebastián is a separate coach terminal with a nearby Line 1 metro stop. For Plaza de Armas, plan a walk, urban bus or taxi connection using your actual destination.
